Neta Borchardt, 75, of Tulia passed away on Saturday, November 05, 2011 at her home. Funeral services will be at 9:00 A.M. Monday, November 7, 2011 at the First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Ernie McGaughey officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia.

Mrs. Borchardt was born December 9, 1935 in Motley County, Texas at Flomot on the family farm, the daughter of Cheston and Erma Franks. She married Edgar Borchardt on December 22, 1959 in Tulia. She graduated from Tulia High School in 1954.

She was church secretary for the First Baptist Church for 5 ½ years. She was a farm wife for 25 years, living on the family farm 15 miles northeast of Tulia. She then worked as a teacher-aide in the Tulia School system for 10 years before retiring. After moving into Tulia she worked for the Swisher County Tax Office for 3 tax seasons and then for RSVP office for another 1 ½ years.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church where she served as a Sunday School Teacher, served numerous committees, Trustee, and Elder. She served for 10 years on the Tulia Cemetery Association Board as secretary. She recently served as a member of the Tulia Independent School District's DEIC Committee.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Karie Denise in 1965, by her parents, father in 1975 and mother in 2007, and her granddaughter Makala Breann in 2001.

Survivors include her husband, Edgar Borchardt of Tulia; two sons, Brian Borchardt and wife Natalie, Rex Borchardt and wife Teresa all of Tulia; four grandchildren, Jacob, Kara, Mark, Naomi all of Tulia; two sisters, Nesta Rothfus of Rogers, Arkansas and Nelda Kirk and husband Wade of McLean, Texas.

The family suggests, in lieu of flowers, memorials to be made to Tulia Cemetery Association Special Projects Fund, P.O. Box 116, Tulia, Texas 79088 or Charity of Choice.
