He attended Tivy High School in Kerrville and earned a Bachelor’s degree from Texas Tech University in 1978. He was a real estate broker with Carl Meek Ranch Sales for almost two decades. He also served as Kerr County Constable of Precinct 2 from 2000-2014. He was a Hill Country Mounted Peace Officer and a dedicated member of the congregation at Calvary Temple Church.
Joel is preceded in death by his mother, Emma.
Joel is survived by daughters, Tera Ayala of Midland, TX and Chandra “Andie” Paine of Kerrville; his sister, Diana Ayala of Austin, TX; father, Joel Ayala Sr. of Kerrville; grandchildren, Alyssa, Draven and Brezlen; and his grand-dog, Ziggy as well as numerous cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, May 2, 2015 at Calvary Temple Church with Pastor Del Way officiating. Any law enforcement officers able to attend are encouraged to dress in uniform.
