Obituary:
Luther "Luke" Gallop, 86, passed away Sunday April2, 1995 in the Altus House Nursing Home.
Luke was born Aug 9, 1908 in Hageye, Missouri to Albert and Ada(Boyd) Gallop.
On November 25, 1930 he and Alma Masters were united in marriage in Harmon County Oklahoma. They lived and farmed in the Gould area until 1955 when they moved to Altus.
Mr. Gallop owned the Dairy Mart until the mid 1970's when he retired. he raised Shetland Ponys and was easily recognized as the driver of the "Luke Fargo and Company Overland Stage" in most area parades.
Mr. Gallop was a member of the Thomas Street Church of Christ.
Luke was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Cleo and Herman Gallop.
He is survived by Alma his wife of 64 years; two children Bob Gallop of Edmond,OK and Yvonne Murray of Stony Creek, CT, one brother A.N. Gallop of Amarillo,TX; one sister, Bertha Mae Duvall of Hollis,OK as well as five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
