Mrs. Etta Cook Boyles-Muller, affectionately known as "Mother" departed this earthly life on Monday, December 26, 2011 at her residence. Born in Columbia, South Carolina on March 5, 1926, she was the thirteenth of fifteen children born to the late John R. and Carrie Pollock Cook.

At an early age, she confessed the Lord as her Savior and joined the Stover Chapel AME Church. For several years in her Christian journey, she became a Seventh Day Adventist and served as a member of the Usher Ministry. Later, Mrs. Muller joined Rice Chapel where she served faithfully in many capacities including; Usher, Vice-Prsident of theMissionary Society and Treasurer of the Musica Choir. She was known for always being punctual. At the time of her transition, she attended the Apostle by Faith Church; dedicating her life to the Lord was her source of joy in life. She enjoyed talking about the Lord, praising Him for His Grace and Mercy (her favorite scripture was Psalm 23), singing in the church choir (her favorite song was "When I've Gone the Last Mile of the Way" and cooking at church events. In her spare time, she enjoyed talking on the telephone with her sisters.

Mrs. Muller was educated in the Richland County Public schools. She was employed at the SC Department of Mental Health and the Richland County Cafeteria System.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband and love her life, Joseph Muller, daughter, Claretta B. Boyles, stepdaughter, Mildred "Sandra" Muller Metcalf, step-son, Joseph Muller; two granddaughters, Burnetta Boyles-Martin and Marla Avon Boyles; two great grandchildren, DeAndre Devon Boyles and Kori A. Jenkins; five sisters: Louise Evans, Adelle Powell, Mattie Eichelburger, Geneva Saulter and Wilhelmenia Murphy; three brothers: Lewis, John Milton and Daniel Cook.

She leaves to cherish precious memories, her loving and devoted son Cornell (Patricia) Boyles; daughters Pandora Love, Marshell Douglas, and Veda Muller; thirteen grandchildren: Shawn Boyles, Bridgitte (Gregory) Binns, Felicia (Kevin) Jenkins, Cheryl (Gary) Jordan, RJ Douglas, Austin Douglas, Quentin Love, Brandon Love, Richo Boyles, Brooke Boyles, Rhonda (Terry) Garrett, Annette "Melvina" Richardson and Wendy (Roderick) Catledge; twenty-three great grandchildren; six great great grandchildren: sisters Tryphinia Fuller-Wilder, Janie Lee Harrison, Bishop Doris C. Rice, and Verlene Dubard; step-sons, William B. (Diane) Muller, Hezekiah (Pat) Muller, Hazer (Florence) Muller, Herbert D. Muller, Wayne (Gloria) Muller and Lemuel (Melissa) Muller; Step-daughter Lillie Muller-Pelczar; Son-in-law William F. Boyles special niece Vanessa Washington; Special nephews Rev. James R. Rice , Jr., and Barry Dubard and a host of other relatives and friends.
