Rensler Lyman Pomeroy, was born on August 27, 1877, in Sidney, Ontario, Canada. Rensler was the son of Francis Virgil Pomeroy and Margaret Ellen Reveler Pomeroy. Rensler had a mining engineer degree and was sent to Sawpit, CO to help the miners find a way to keep the water out of their mines. Rensler was managing two mines in Sawpit, the Gertrude and the New York Mines for the National Mining and Milling Company. Rensler was also involved in developing another mine in Sawpit for Navajo Hydro-Electric P. & G. M. Co. According to family history, Rensler was also a promoter who would go to other states to try and interest men in investing in the Sawpit mines. While in Sawpit, CO, Rensler met and married Beulah Mae Imes. Rensler and Beulah were married on April 17, 1907. Rensler and Beulah Mae had three children. Dorothea Pomeroy, Rensler Lyman Pomeroy, and Geraldine Imes Pomeroy. While working in Sawpit, CO, Rensler went down in a mine with a cold and was dead four days later from acute pneumonia. Rensler died in Sawpit, CO on March 2, 1917 at 39 years old. Rensler's death at a young age was a severe loss to his young family. Rensler's grave marker says Rensler died on March 3, 1917 but his death certificate says March 2, 1917.
