Glenn Arthur Anderson was born 18 Mar 1918, the first son of Ernest Henry Anderson and Alice Ada Locke. There was nothing that Glenn couldn't do when it came to building, planning, or organizing. He was in the Tenth Mountain Division, training with the ski troops in Colorado, then deployed to Italy during the Second World War. He met his wife, Genevieve Freeman, while on maneuvers. She was sitting on a train and her aunt, accompanying her, said, 'There he is, Jenny!" They married on 15 Nov 1943 in Tacoma, Washington. In 1949 their first child was born: Alice Virginia; then David Glenn in 1950 and Alan Arthur in 1955. Glenn and his wife accomplished so much in their lives. They helped build a park for their community in Tillicum, Washington; ran a dental business and rented beautiful apartments to soldiers stationed at Fort Lewis; and they bought, in their later years, Bill's Boathouse on American Lake, where children learned to fish. Not done, they also took an interest in rowing, and bought old wooden shells, making them available to kids who wanted to learn this marvelous team sport. Though Glenn and Genevieve are gone, their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren live to continue their legacy.

Today, dear Dad, I ate baloney sandwiches and drank Green River with your sons and their wives. Though we don't often get together, this is one day we look forward to, reuniting and recalling how our family sticks together because of the deep roots you se...(Read more)

Today your grandson and your daughter traveled the 10th Mt. Div. Highway to visit Camp Hale where you trained with the ski troops. It was a blizzard, Dad, but your grandson was so impressed. Love you. Miss you.
