Robert Earl Cox, 66, of Midlothian passed away on August 26, 2011.
He was born November 25, 1944 in Big Spring, Texas to Tinsley Earl and Sybil Florene Cox.
He lived in Grand Prairie, Texas where after high school joined the U.S. Navy and served his country in places from Jacksonville, Florida to Iceland.
He has been a faithful employee of Gerdau Steel, formerly Chaparral Steel, for the last 36 years.
He attended the Stagecoach Cowboy Church of Waxahachie.
He is survived by his wife, Donna Kay (Hanson) Cox of Midlothian; daughter, Lisa Cox Spence, of Midlothian and Chad Spence, of Grandview; son, Joe David Cox and wife, Renee Cox of Mabank, Texas; Bobby Cox and wife, Christina, of Midlothian, Texas; grandchildren, Garrett Spence, Ty Spence, Callie Jo Cox, Brady Cox, Tinsley Cox, Denni Cox, and Rider Cox; and countless other family, friends, and co-workers.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Tinsley Earl and Sybil Florene Cox.
A visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Monday, August 29, at Midlothian Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, August 30, at Ellis County Cowboy Church, Waxahachie, Texas, with interment in Midlothian Cemetery.
