Richard M. Robinson was born in Missouri. He was the son of James Robinson & Elizabeth McClure. He married Judy Ann Wright 02 Sep 1860 in Harmony, Washington, MO. He served briefly in the Civil War for the Union. He was forced to hide in a cave from Confederate neighbors where his wife brought him food and water. After one battle, a neighbor told Richard's wife that his body was lying in the road. Judy took a shovel and with a Confederate neighbor's wife went to bury him. The body was not Richard's. The two women buried it next to the road where the grave is tended to this day.
