Jerry Lowe of Cadet, Missouri was born Friday, August 21, 1931 in Des Arc, Missouri a son of the late Gladys (Brooks) Lowe and James Lowe. Jerry was Fortified with the Sacraments of the Holy Mother Church on Wednesday, March 29, 2006 at his home surrounded by the love and care of his family. Jerry was seventy-four years, seven months and eight days of age.
Jerry was united in Holy Matrimony to Catherine Battreal on December 9, 1950 in Pocohontas, Arkansas. They were blessed to have fifty-five years together and a very dear and loving family.
Jerry is survived by his loving and devoted wife Catherine Lowe of Cadet, Missouri, one daughter, Elaine Wilson and husband Tom of Hillsboro, Missouri, four sons, James Ronald Lowe and wife Marsha of Lawrenceville, Georgia, Gerald Rick Lowe of Atlanta, Georgia, Ralph Wayne Lowe and wife Ronda of Branson, Missouri, George Stephen Lowe and wife Marla of Atlanta, Georgia, four sisters, his twin sister Joyce Hartupee and husband James of Cuba, Missouri, Berniece Cresswell and husband Jim of Potosi, Missouri, Ruth Ann Hill and husband Ron of Potosi, Missouri, Jeanie Coleman and husband Lindell of Potosi, Missouri, four brothers, George Lowe and wife Barbara of San Mateo, Florida, Danny Lowe of Union, Missouri, Richard Lowe and wife Dotty of St. Clair, Missouri, Kenneth Lowe and wife Deanna of Beaufort, Missouri, eleven grandchildren, six great grandchildren, sister-in-law, Marie Lowe of Jackson, Missouri and by many other relatives and dear and special friends. In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by one brother, Jack Lowe and a special friend and brother-in-law Roscoe Battreal.
Jerry was a long time parishioner of the St. Joachim Catholic Church, Old Mines, Missouri. He enjoyed his church family and was active in its many activities.
Jerry loved spending time on the farm, working in the hay, walking through out the pastures and taking care of cattle. He would spend time relaxing by working in his garden. In addition to his cattle, Jerry loved his dogs, each one was very special to him.
Visitation for Jerry was held Thursday, March 29, 2006 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Friday, March 30, 2006 from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.
A Funeral Mass was celebrated Friday, March 30, 2006 at 10:00 AM at the St. Joachim Catholic Church, Old Mines, Missouri with Father Ted Pieper celebrating. Music was provided by the St. Joachim Catholic Church Choir.
Final Prayers and Burial was in the St. Joachim Catholic Church Cemetery, Old Mines, Missouri. Serving as Pallbearers were Ron Lowe, Rick Lowe, Ralph Lowe, George Lowe, Scott Lowe and Jeremy Lowe.
At the conclusion of the Services, the family and friends were united at the Knights of Columbus Hall, Old Mines, Missouri where they were treated to a luncheon and further fellowship all sponsored by the Knights of Columbus.
Services were Entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Homes, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
