Joseph Benjamin Knight was born in to Aquilla Knight and Elizabeth Williamson. He married Julia Ann Conner, daughter of Adam Conner and Betsy Sigler some time around 1842. Joseph and Julia moved west to Missouri before 1870. At this same time other members of the Conner, Sigler and Knight families were moving west and settled in Carrollton, Iowa. These included Joseph's brother Perry Ezra Knight, Julia's brother George Conner, and Julia's uncle John Sigler. After Joseph passed away in 1869, Julia moved to Carrollton to be with family. She passed away there and is buried in the Old Carrollton Cemetery with the family afore mentioned. Joseph is buried in Palmer Cemetery in Lincoln County, Missouri with his daughter Evonie.
