James O. "Bob" Humphreys, age 76, a resident of Plainview, AR died Sunday, May 4, 1997 at John McClellan Memorial VA Medical Center at Little Rock. He was born on October 31, 1920 at Hollis, AR to Arthur and Annie Moss Humphreys. He was a retired cement mason and a farmer. He was an Army Veteran in the 354th infantry fought and rolled through Europe with General Patton; he received a Bronze Star in the crossing of the Rhine River Battle. He was a member of the Hollis Pentecostal Church.

Survivors include his wife, Lurlene Humphreys of Plainview; one son, Benny Humphreys of Waco, TX; one daughter, Carol Pye of Plainview; one brother, Gene Humphreys of Plainview; one sister, Pauline Weaver of Plainview; two grandchildren, Matthew Pye of Plainview and Christye Pye of Russellville and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be 2:00 pm Wednesday, May 7, 1997 at the Hollis Pentecostal Church, officiated by Rev. Richard Humphreys. Burial will be at the Nooner Cemetery at Steve, AR. Active casketbearers will be Darrell Humphreys, Earl Humphreys, Bobby Humphreys, Lewis Humphreys, Herbert Jones and Glen King. Alternates Rick Womack and Lou Rucker.
