Richard's death certificate lists his occupation as a laborer in the the Wood Preserving Works Division of T & NO Railroad, which later became, Southern Pacific Railroad Shop. His birth year of 1867 is estimated from his age being listed as 58 on his death certificate.
He died January 14, 1925 and his cause of death is listed as cardiac decompensation (failure of the heart to maintain adequate blood circulation). His burial was handled by I. S. Lewis Funeral Home. It is unclear whether there is a marker for his grave.
