Howard L. Beaty, 73, Sandusky farmer, died at 8:15 a.m. today in Graham hospital.
Born June 8, 1890 in Charleston, he was the son of Isaac and Emma Beard Beaty. All of his life was spent in Lee county.
On April 15, 1908 in Keokuk he married Emma Johnson who died July 24, 1963.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Edward (Edna) Glasgow of Keokuk, six sons, Robert of Hancock, Iowa, Ernest of Carlson, Iowa, Andrew of Oakland, Iowa, Gilbert of Argyle and Everett and Roy of Keokuk, three sisters, Mrs. Jessie Storms of Keokuk, Mrs. Grace West of Fort Madison and Mrs. Buena Lile of Monrovia, Calif., a brother H. L. of Fort Madison, 13 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Virgil, two sisters, Mrs. Flossie Hancock and Mrs. Delpha Gibbs and a brother, W. B. Beaty of Keokuk.
The funeral will be held at 3:30 p.m. Saturday in the Schmidt Memorial Home with the Rev. Emanuel Varner officiating. Burial will be in the Scandinavian cemetery.
