Howard Admire, age 90, of Chillicothe, formerly of Brookfield, died Monday, May 10, 2010, at Morningside Center in Chillicothe.

A funeral service will be Friday, May 14, 2010, at 1:00 p.m. at Wright-Baker-Hill Funeral Home, Brookfield. Burial will be in Park Lawn Cemetery in Brookfield; Military Rites will be rendered by VFW Post 4557. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. Thursday and the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 in the evening.

Memorials to the American Heart Association may be left at or mailed to Wright-Baker-Hill Funeral Home, PO Box 496, Brookfield, MO 64628.

Howard Harvey, son of Silas and Grace (Williams) Admire, was born December 30, 1919, in Bucklin. On October 10, 1939, he married Frances Louise Packham.

Mr. Admire had been a conductor for the Burlington Northern Railroad before his retirement.

He was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Brookfield where he served as a Deacon. He had led Bible Studies in local nursing homes for several years. He was a US Army Veteran of World War II serving in Okinawa and received a Purple Heart. He was active in youth baseball leagues where he coached and umpired for many years.

Survivors include his wife, Louise Admire of Chillicothe; two sons, Larry Admire and wife, Betty of Slidell, Louisiana and Max Admire and wife, Brenda of Brookfield; two daughters, Linda Johnson of Chillicothe and Barbara Lewis of Lawson; 13 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, and eight great-great grandchildren; and one sister, Juanita Macewicz of Holt.

His parents; one daughter, Darlene Mosley; one granddaughter, Cindy Truitt; one brother, Gene Admire; and one sister, Mildred Bedell preceded him in death.
