The funeral for Selma Abrahamson, 101, of Harvey, formerly of Maddock, was held Fri. at 2 p.m. at the Klara Lutheran Church, rural Maddock. Interment was in the Klara Cemetery. She died May 1, 1991 at St. Aloisius Nursing Home in Harvey.
Rev. George Wirsing officiated. Olene Backen was organist & Betty Nelson provided special music. Pallbearers were Alton Abrahamson, Bernard Anderson, David Kenner, Kurt Anderson, Troy Anderson & Troy Hanson. The Nelson Funeral Home of Maddock was in charge of arrangements.
Selma Julianna Abrahamson was born Feb. 16, 1890 in Vastergotland, Sweden to Johanes & Albertina Zackerson. She was raised & educated in Sweden & married Carl Abrahamson there Aug. 21, 1921. Following their marriage they moved to a farm near Maddock. They moved into Maddock in 1944. He died in 1967. She entered the St. Aloisius Nursing Home in Harvey in 1988 & has resided there since.
She was a member of the Klara Lutheran Church & its ladies aid.
Survivors include 8 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren & 3 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Henry; 2 infant children; 1 great-grandson; & several brothers & sisters.
