|Death: ||Mar. 23, 1883|
Cora Dasbach was born to Reinhold John and Elizabeth (Sonner) Dasbach, in Quincy, Illinois in 1877. Two years later, Elizabeth died of tuberculosis. Reinhold, Cora, and older brother Alexander went to live with Reinhold's parents and his other siblings. There was still a worldwide economic depression for the whole of that decade. In the 1880 census, it shows Reinhold, Alexander and Cora living with the Dasbachs in Quincy. (Alexander is listed as "Ellick," probably a phonetic spelling of Alec. As a young man he was later known to loved ones as "Allie.")
Cora died only age six. Her death certificate lists possible early signs of scarlet fever, and 'brain congestion' as causes. Cora's father Reinhold died in 1887, her brother Alexander in 1900. Cora is buried near her family in Woodland cemetery, the beautiful riverfront cemetery in Quincy, Illinois.
