Max Lester Meldrum passed away on August 30, 2012 at the age of 88.

Max was born in Springfield, Missouri on June 2, 1924 to Pearl Lincoln and Essie Marie Meldrum. He graduated from Topeka High School in Topeka, Kansas. He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Coast Guard in 1946. In 1987 Max retired from Collins Radio / Rockwell Intl.

Max was preceded in death by his wife, Dolly Nadine Meldrum and sons, Dean Alan and Kenneth Dale Meldrum, and by grandson Dallas Wright Coldwell, and his sisters Bonita Meldrum-Streeter, and Doris Marie Meldrum Fisher. He is lovingly remembered by his children, Gerald M. Meldrum, Maxine M. Peyton, Jean E. Coldwell, Robert J. Meldrum, Keith S. Meldrum, James D. Meldrum, Linda Rene' McKenzie Morris, Kenneth S. McKenzie, Roger E. McKenzie, Joseph R. McKenzie, and Susan K. McKenzie Davis. Max has 22 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.

Max played the trumpet and loved music, especially big band jazz. He was an avid participant at the Plano Senior Center dances where he had many good friends and dance partners. He was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church in Plano, Texas and was often an usher and helped with the church newsletter. One of his greatest joys was the backyard BBQ's that brought his children and friends to his door where the music and food flowed. Dad never knew a stranger and always had an accepting and kind word for everyone that he met or loved. He will be missed.

His memorial service was held at the Allen Funeral Home, 508 Masters, Wylie Texas on September 4, 2012, at 1:00 pm.
