ARIZONA CITY — Luciann Margaret “Lucy” Conley, 78, of Arizona City died on Aug. 1, 2016, at HonorHealth Scottsdale Osborn Medical Center.

Ms. Conley was born at home on Sept. 4, 1937, in Logan County, Nebraska, to John and Elizabeth (Redenbo) Connley.

She graduated in 1955 from Logan County High School, where she was a member of the cheerleading squad. She and her first husband moved to Florida at the beginning of the space program, and she worked at Patrick Air Force Base for a number of years. She then became office manager for an orthodontist on Merritt Island, Florida, where she lived and raised her family. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, where she taught her daughter’s Sunday school class. She also was a member of a square dancing club and enjoyed reading, photography and camping on occasion.

She worked at Kennedy Space Center, where she met her second husband, and they opened D&L Western Wear while working at the center. At age 50 she went back to school and received a Master of Science degree in management information systems from Nova Southeastern University. She later worked for a Nissan dealership on Merritt Island, then became a real estate agent. She retired after working for the U.S. Transportation Security Administration at Orlando International Airport. She moved to Arizona City to be close to her brother and other family members. She was a member of Arizona City Evangelical Methodist Church. She loved her family, friends, church and her little dog, Happy.

Survivors include two daughters, Lacinda S. Zimmer of Franklin, Indiana, and Katrina Bedard of Melbourne, Florida; a son, Douglas Weber of Melbourne; a brother, Bill Connley of Nebraska; and two grandchildren.

The service will be held later.
