Jun 01, 2007 - 12:05:23 CDT

CUBA, Mo. - Eugene A Spurgeon of Cuba, Mo., was born on Monday, December
16, 1935, at St. James, Mo., to the union of Lowell Spurgeon and Mabel (nee:
Duecker) Spurgeon and left from this life on Tuesday, May 29, 2007, at
Rolla. Mo., at the age of 71 years, 5 months and 13 days. Eugene was united
in marriage to Ruth E. Steele on June 2, 1956, at the First Presbyterian
Church of Cuba and to this union six children were born: Donna, Danny,
Diane, Darlene, Debbie and David.

Eugene has spent the last 21 years working as a bus driver for the Crawford
County RlI School District and the last eight years he drove the special
needs children 230 miles a day. Prior to working for the school, Eugene was
the owner/operator of a filling station and oil company, Spurgeon Oil Co.,
and before that he was the owner/operator of ABC Canoe Rental and Camp
Ground "On the River" by Steelville, Mo., but it was at the camp ground that
Eugene found one of his many talents, Yard Manicuring and he then was able

The most important thing in Eugene's life was his family, but during his
spare time he truly enjoyed fishing, anywhere there was water.
