CARTER > Leonard W. Carter, Jr., 80, passed away December 18, 2008. He was born June 23, 1928 in Hebardville, Georgia to Leonard and Roxie Annie Smith Carter.

He served in the US Army during the Korean War. Mr. Carter retired from Duval Ford after 30 years of service. He was a mason and a member of the American Legion Post 0137.

Mr. Carter is survived by 2 sons: Patrick L. Carter (Katie) and Alex A. Carter (Nancy); daughter: Abby Carter; grandchildren: Matthew, Stephanie, Michael, Cheryl, Sassity, Alex Jr., Patrick Jr., Sean and Julia; several great-grandchildren; 2 sisters: LeVaughn Sikes and Doris; several nieces and nephews, and special companion Charlotte Livingston.

Visitation for Mr. Carter will be 10 a.m., Monday, December 22, 2008 at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, Edgewood Chapel with funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Riverside Memorial Park.

Memorials may be made to Hillcrest Baptist Church. Funeral arrangements are by Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, 729 S. Edgewood Avenue, Jacksonville, FL. 388-2711.
