Franklin - Dorothy Mae Glover Benton, 70, passed away peacefully on February 3, 2015, at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth with her family at her side. Dot was a native of Franklin, the daughter of the late Lloyd Allen Glover, Sr. and Willie Mae Askew Glover. She was also predeceased by her husband of 49 years, Bobby Gene Benton, and an infant son, Michael Craig Benton.

A devoted wife and loving mother and grandmother, she leaves to cherish her memory one daughter, Denise Benton Bunn, and husband Jack (Count); three sons, David Reginald Benton and wife Cindy, Deron Richard Benton and wife Stephanie, and Douglas Randall Benton and wife Lori; one brother, L.A. Glover, Jr; and seven grandchildren, Jack Bunn IV, Brittany Bunn, Chad Benton, Emmy Benton, Wade Benton, Isabel Benton, and Austin Benton.

The family wishes to express deep gratitude to Dr. Dermot Killian and the staff of Naval Medical Center for their extraordinary care and dedication to Dot during her long battle with lung disease. The family also would like to thank the host of friends and family who showed support and love when her illness confined her to her home.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 PM Saturday, February 7, 2015 at Wright Funeral Home with the Revs. Darwin Edwards and Brent Kimlick officiating. Burial will follow at Mt Horeb Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Friday, February 6, at the funeral home and suggests that memorials be made to Franklin Cooperative Ministries, P. O.
