Reverend Harold H. Knight, Jr., went home to the Lord on Monday, February 12, 2007, following a long illness.

Harold was born on April 15, 1934, in Larned, Kansas, e son of the late Lorena and Harold H. Knight, Sr. He was a graduate of Larned High School. He attended Bethany Nazarene University and graduated from the International Bible Institute and Seminary. He served in the Lord's Ministry for forty-five years, pastoring churches in several states, returning to Joplin in 1997. Music was an important part of Harold's life, he and his family originated the group, "Musical Knights". They performed on radio and television. They won talent competitions for four consecutive years at the Oklahoma State Fair.

He served as president of the Wichita Park City Lions Club, from 1988 to 1989, and was selected as 'Lion of the Year' in 1985 and 1986. He served as president, and secretary and treasurer for the Tri-City Wichita Ministerial Alliance. He was a candidate for the Governor of Kansas in 1978 and 1992, and a candidate for the Mayor of Wichita in 1992 to 1994.

He married his true love, Janice Dean Booe, on June 12, 1955. She survives. Additional survivors include: two sons, Harold H. Knight, III, "Rusty", Joplin, Missouri, and Rick R. Knight, Baltimore, Maryland; one daughter, Candace Knight-Hawkins and husband Darrell, Wichita, Kansas; four grandchildren, Joshua Hopkins, and Ryan Knight, both of Wichita, Kansas, Lindsey Knight, Carl Junction, Missouri, and Erica Hawkins, Wichita, Kansas; four brothers, twin brother, Harlyn Knight and wife Norma, Wichita, Kansas, Norman Knight and wife Becky, Dodge City, Kansas, Darrel Knight, Great Bend, Kansas, and Ed Sanders and wife Charlene, Hereford, Texas; two sisters-in-law, Gloria Booe Adams, Joplin, and Beverly Booe, Joplin; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a large host of friends. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Sandra Lee Knight.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, at Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Chapel. Rev. Dave Cheshier will officiate. Burial will be 3:00 p.m., Saturday, in Larned City Cemetery, Larned, Kansas.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m.,Thursday, at the mortuary.
