Ms. Lela P. Miller, 54, Independence, died Monday at the Independence Sanitarium and Hospital. Ms. Miller was born in Clinton [Osceola], Mo., and had lived in this area most of her life. She leaves three sons, Anthony L. Miller of the home, Emmett E. Miller, Alva, Okla., and William C. Miller, Buckner; three daughters, Sharon D. Clifford, Louisville, Ky., Annette L. Wohlgemuth, Independence, and Pamela A. Miller of the home; two brothers, John Rush of Portland Ore., and Webster Rush, Fremont, Neb.; three sisters, Josephine Greenfield, Clinton, Ruth Miller, Buckner, and Letha Datweiller, Independence; and 13 grandchildren. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Speaks Suburban Chapel; burial in Mount Washington Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at the chapel.

Lela Pauline (Rush) Miller Brokofsky was born to Jattie Morgan and Leona (Akers) Rush. Her siblings were Mary Frances, Susan Morgan, George Webster, Edna, Lucy May, Georgie Lee Carney, Wilma Charlott, John Merle, Ruth Pearl, Joseph Edward, Josephine, and Letha Lorraine.

On September 30, 1948, she and Lewis Miller were married at Liberty, Clay Co, Missouri. They had 7 children, Sharon Darlene, Annette Louise, Constance Louella, Pamela Alice, Anthony Lewis, Emmett Eugene and William Craig.

Their 16 grandchildren are: Trena Kay, Lewis Alan, Michael Harold, Steven Duane, Shawn Ray, Kathryn Pauline, Robert Lee, John Michael, Trinity Lorraine, Cheryl Diane, Anthony Lewis Jr., Crystal Mashell, Dana Marie, Summer Ann, Kaleb Eugene and Logan Nathaniel.

On February 17, 1972 she married Robert Duane Brokofsky in Lexington, La Fayette Co, Missouri.
