Services for Iley Barton, 68, Yuma, Ariz., are to be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Denton Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bob Bacon, First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial is to be in Carlsbad Cemetery.
Pallbearers include Roy Willis, Joe M. Willis, Tolbert Barton Jr., Kent Carter, Bill Phillips and Bill Watson.
He was born in Mena, Ark., and moved to McAdoo, Texas, when he was a child. He graduated from McAdoo High School and began farming in the Hereford, Texas, area until moving to Carlsbad in 1959. He and Daisy Jo Willis were married on April 23, 1942, in Clovis. He was owner and operator of A-1 Boot and Shoe Repair until his retirement. He and his wife moved to Yuma about 19 months ago.
Survivors include his wife, Daisy Jo, Yuma; one son, Iley Jo Barton, Yuma; one daughter, Linda Wyatt, Lubbock; one brother Tolbert Barton, Mena, Ark.; two sisters, Ruby Price, Bells, Texas, and Ova McPherson, Floydada, Texas; and two grandchildren.
