Beloved wife of Leonard Patryn.

Cecile passed away on Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at home with her beloved family by her side. Cecile was born on December 14, 1921 in Holyoke and moved to South Hadley in
1951. She was educated at Our Lady of Perpetual Help School and graduated from Holyoke
High School. She was a Drum Corp Majorette. Cecile was also a communicant of Saint Patrick’s Church in South Hadley where she was a member of the Women’s Guild and the Church Choir. She was a long time member of South Hadley Choralites as well as a member of Dancing Shadows Square Dancing and Round Dance Club. Cecile was employed at Spalding’s during her young adulthood as well as a driver for Misses Jones Kindergarten School. Cecile was also a lunch monitor at South Hadley Middle School and retired from Deluxe Check Printers. She was a long time volunteer of the South Hadley COA. Cecile enjoyed traveling, sewing, crocheting,
reading and most of all spending time with her family. She will be deeply missed by her family
and has now gone home to rest. Cecile was predeceased by her husband, Leonard Patryn, in
1993; her son, Leonard Patryn, in 2013; her daughter, Cheryl (Patryn) Audet, in 1998; her
parents, Rhea (Couture) Bessette and Ernest Bessette; her siblings, Joseph Bessette, George Bessette, Paul Bessette and Annette Schladenhauffen. Cecile is survived by her children Bruce Patryn and his wife Mary of Springfield Center, NY, Carole Szlachetka and her husband Edward of Chicopee, Cynthia (Tia) Walsh and her husband Garry of Springfield, MA, Christine O’Hare and her husband Bill of South Hadley, Celeste Ferris and her husband Michael of Encinitas, CA, Claudia Frappier of South Hadley; her 14 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; as well as her siblings; Claire Gladu, Albert Bessette, Priscilla Boyce, Gerard Bessette; and several nieces and nephews.
