John Wilkens Bramer was born on March 7, 1932, the son of John P. and Lillian (Wilkens) Bramer in Pleasant View Township of Norman County, MN. John served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He achieved the rank of Sargent. In June of 1955, he was married to Phyllis Hanson in Fertile, MN. John and his wife Phyllis moved to Princeton in September of 1964. John started working at Smith System Manufacturing in 1960 and retired from there in 1997. John was a devoted husband and father and spent many years unconditionally caring for his wife Phyllis who had multiple health conditions. In his younger years, John enjoyed fishing. He also liked being outdoors and working in his yard and garden. John was mechanically inclined and liked to repair automobiles and yard work equipment. In his later years, he and his son Brad enjoyed discovering their family genealogy. John attended Zion Lutheran Church of Princeton, MN
John is survived by his son, Brad Bramer of Grand Forks, ND; special cousin, Darrell Bramer of Savage, MN; sister-in law and brother-in-law, Fran and Alvin Gigler and brother-in-law Norman Hanson all of Fertile, MN; his nieces a nephew and many loving relatives and friends.
John was preceded in death by his wife Phyllis in 2006.
