Obituary: Joseph Deleski, 91 Is Buried in Argyle Cemetery
Funeral services for Joseph Deleski, 96, were held Monday, August 13, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic church in Argyle with Rev. John Stearns officiating. Mr. Deleski died August 10 at Anne's Rest home in Middle River. Internment was made in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were Charles Coninx, Joe Bergeron, Earl Bergeron, Paul Dufault, Joe Bieniski and Simon Beaudry. Mr. Deleski was born March 19, 1860 in Poland. He came to the United States with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph[Martin] Deleski, in 1863, settling in Akron, Ohio. Seven years later they moved to Ashton, Neb, to engage in farming. Mr. Deleski was married March 6, 1905[Feb 11, 1907] to Rose Slobaszewski and they farmed in Nebraska until March 1918 when they moved to the Argyle community to farm east of the village.
Survivors include his wife Rose, who is being hospitalized: three sons, Tony of Argyle, Steve of Karlstad and Joe of Moline, Ill; one daughter, Mrs. Steve (Clara) Brodie of Pearl Beach, Mich: a sister, Anatasia Pointkowski of Omaha, Neb; two brothers, William of Omaha and Anton of Alexandria; eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
[Anastasia Deleski Piontkowski had already passed away ( California 1950) at the time of her brother's death. She was living with her daughter, Margaret Piontkowski McCleod].
[No mention of his first wife or their children are made in this obituary. Not out of error, rather the family in Minnesota were largely unaware of his first wife and children.
[Mary Kwarcinksi Delesky died Dec 28, 1905 which conflicts with the marriage date of March 6, 1905 for Joe and Rose and the newspaper announcement of Mary's death "Mrs. Joseph Deleski. Death" reported in NSHS newspaper 1/5/1906]"
Children of Joe and Mary Kwarcinski Deleski:

Children of Joe and Rose Slobiasowski Deleski:

After Joe's first wife, Mary Kwarcinski died, Joe married the widow, Rose Pilakowski. Most of Joe's children were sent to live with relatives. The only child of his and Mary's who remained in his care as a child was Marcel. However, when Joe, Rose and their children moved to Minnesota, Joe focused his efforts on raising his children with Rose. Martha, William, and Florence all died in California. Kathryn, Marcel and Christine remained in Nebraska. Martha and Marcel did not marry.
