Lifelong Miami County Resident Passes Away: PERU. Ind. - Joseph R. Butt, 44, route 3, Peru, died at 7:13 a.m. Sunday at his home. He been ill six months with a heart block. Born Aug. 2, 1905 in Erie township, Miami county, he was the son of Stephen A. and Nellie A. Lesher Butt. On March 24, 1940, he was married to Gertrude Heckathorne. Mr. Butt spent his entire lifetime in his county and was employed by the Bailey Manufacturing company here. Surviving with his wife are five brothers, Frank, route 2. Peru; Arch, Rich Valley; Oscar, Ronan, Mont.; Dewey, Peru; and Walker, route 3, Peru; and a sister, Mrs. John Working, route 2, Wabash. Friends may call at the Eikenberry funeral home after 7 p.m. Monday. Final rites will he conducted there at 2 p. m. Tuesday by the Rev. C. F. Golden. Burial will he in West Lawn cemetery at Denver.
