JONATHAN, son of ISAAC and MARY J. (HAINES) CARTER, married NORMA PIPES 9 Nov 1910 who survives. He was the Postmaster at Linneus MO. (Information from his death certificate # 16457.)

LINNEUS POSTMASTER DIES
KANSAS CITY, May 19 (AP)---J. N. Carter, 64, postmaster of Linneus, died today at a hotel where he was staying while attending the convention of Missouri postmasters. He apparently suffered a heart attack. (Moberly Monitor Index, Saturday, 5-19-1951, pg.3.)

ATTEND FUNERAL SERVICES OF BROTHER AT LINNEUS
Mrs. J. D. Carter and Frank Carter of Huntsville went to Linneus today to attend the funeral of their brother, J. N. Carter, postmaster of Linneus, who died Saturday in Kansas City.
