MRS. ANNA JOHANSON

Mrs. Anna Johanson, 69, resident of the Olney district for the past 36 years, died at a local hospital shortly before midnight Thursday following an extended illness. She was the widow of Peter Johanson, who died here in 1932.

Mrs. Johanson was born in Kalajoki, Oulun Laani, Finland, December 9, 1869. She came to Port Angeles, Wash., 51 years ago where she and her husband homesteaded. Thirty-six years ago, they moved with their family to Olney. She was a member of the Finnish Apostolic Lutheran church.

Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Niilo "Anna" Rintala, Wheeler, Mrs. Jack "Hannah" Maher, Svensen, Mrs. Fred "Ethel" Brunner and Mrs. Claude "Margaret" Vaugh of Seaside; five sons, John, Edwin and Frank Johanson of Olney, and Emil and Jalmar Johanson of Astoria; a sister, Mrs. Charles Smith, Port Orchard, Wash.; two brothers, Emanuel and August Wasankari of Port Angeles, Wash., and by 12 grandchildren. A son, Otto Johanson, died in Astoria in 1937.

Funeral arrangements will be announced later by Ginn's Funeral Home. Burial will be in the family plot in Greenwood cemetery.
