Jakob Iseli was baptized Feb. 24, 1793 in Buchof, a hamlet near Grafenried. His parents were Jakob Iseli and Barbara (Kunz). Jakob and family immigrated to USA in 1834. He was naturalized in 1840.Jakob assumed the name of EASLEY or EASLY after arriving in USA with his family and settled in Buffalo, NY for 18 months. Next he moved to Columbiana County, OH, and later moved to Cranberry Township, Crawford County, OH. Jakob married 1st to Margaretha Katharina Buerki of Langnau, Bern, Switz on Aug 23, 1819. Five children were born to this marriage: Jakob b.23 Jul 1820; Anna Maria b.22 Feb 1822; Magdalena b. 24 Sep 1823; Margaretha b. 7 Nov 1825; Johannes b.19 Aug 1827.
The 1st wife died in 1829. Jakob then married Barbara Struchen who was born in Biel, Canton Bern,Switz.in 1802. The 2nd marriage occurred 12 Jun 1830 in Grafenried. Into this 2nd marriage four children were born while the family still lived in Switz. These were Daniel Nicklaus b. 30 Jan 1831; Elizabeth b. 15 Mar 1832; Barbara b. 20 Oct 1833. and Friedrich who was born in Buffalo, NY, ca. 1834 after the Iseli family came to USA.
After settling in Ohio Jakob and 2nd wife Barbara had; Catherine b.ca. 1837; Samuel b.ca.1839;Rosanna b.31 Oct1841;Ann b. ca. 1844; Francis b. ca. 1846.
Jakob Iseli died in Crawford County, OH in 1847.
