Artist Buus

MILLER, Mo. Artist Jean Buus, 58, Miller, died at 7:10 p.m. Friday in the Missouri Rehabilitation Center terminal care unit at Mount Vernon after a long illness.

Mrs. Buus was born Dec. 8, 1930, at El Dorado Springs. She moved to Carthage with her parents as a child and to Miller 20 years ago. She was a member of the Baptist church and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary at Miller.

She married James W. Buus on Feb. 7, 1969, at Miami, Okla. He survives.

Additional survivors include two daughters, Sharon Kay Cole, Carthage, and Clara Jean Sanders, Carthage route 5; two sons, Mike Fansler, the state of Texas, and Alfred Fansler, Pierce City; her mother, Myrtle Riley, Carthage; three sisters, Dorothy Foraker, Miami, Helen Lynn and Loretta McBride, both Carthage; three brothers, Jack Ward, Joplin, Olen Ward, Neosho, and Joe Ward, Rogers, Ar.; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Knell Mortuary. The Rev. Scott Purcell will officiate. Burial will be in Park Cemetery, Carthage.

The casket will be closed at all times.

Contributions may be made to the hospice program at the Missouri Rehabilitation Center at Mount Vernon.

Although it doesn't mention in her obituary she was also married to Albert Newton Fansler. They were married by the Probate Judge of Jasper County, Missouri on September 5, 1947.

Marriage License on file shows Albert as 23 years of age and Artist as 17 years of age. Artist mother, Myrtle Ward was on hand to give permission for this marriage.
