Preceded in death by parents, George Mooney and Christine Demetros Mooney; and brother, George Mooney, Jr. Survived by sister, Joan Mooney Felts; nephews, Ricky (Kim) Felts; Chris (Selena) Felts; George (Lisa) Felts; great nephews, Andrew and Owen; niece, Kelsey; aunt, Louise Bland Demtros; cousins, Elaine (Eric) Bly, St. Louis, MO; Harriett (Vic) Simpson, Nashville; Jinx (Jimmy) Cockerham, Franklin, TN; and Corky (Gayle) Demetros. Sonny graduated from Battle Ground Academy in 1955 and Vanderbilt University in 1959. He was a well respected local businessman. Ambassador and devoted lifetime member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church. Sonny was a man of honor and always true to his word. He was always willing to share his life lessons that he lived by. He was a loving brother and mentor to his sister and three nephews. An extra special thanks to his former wife, Joan Cathey Mooney and Dr. Rentz Dunn, Jr., MD of Baptist Hospital. Pallbearers: Buddy Dunn, Billy Shutt, Richard Feldman, Leonard Amdur, Jerry Stelmaszak, George Anton, Charles Gilbert and Walter Wilson. Honorary Pallbearers: Members of the AHEPA at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Monday April 25, 2011 at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church with visitation from 11 a.m. until service time at the church.
