LOVING MOMENTS

Love is the rebel of rules. Love is outside of time, irreverent to distance, unshackled by opinion, and remains a living edifice that death never overcomes. It carves its' permanence using words and actions. Handfuls of these expressions become loving moments and handfuls of these yet become legacies which endure as testaments to love's singular goal. Love wants to prove it exists. It wants to show us it is real. And it uses very special people to tell its story. Phyllis Ford and Foster Ford were chosen as characters in their chapter to show others what love can look like. Their epilogue from this earth is captured below as their first moments joined together again in heaven.
"I awoke to angels rejoicing and looked on amazed to see my beautiful bride walking in the morning dawn of heaven today." said Foster as he jaunted across the fields to see her again.
Phyllis replied with a gleeful eye "I've replayed this moment countless times since you left. It's so perfect in every way. And honey you do look so handsome!"
"You make a million decisions that mean nothing and then one day, I go to the Silver Dollar in Bradenton, Florida and it changes your life." He said as he was overwhelmed with the sentiment of her touch." I am so glad I was there to meet you!"
"Oh, how we loved that movie Sleepless in Seattle! Though you are off a little on that line! I always enjoyed seeing you grow beautiful flowers, orchids, and working in the greenhouse." She reminisced.
"And Phyllis, I love watching you during your simple moments, cooking, reading, and doing crossword puzzles." Foster said as he took her hand and walked her further into the garden of heaven.
"You never thought you'd end up with a girl from Des Moines, Iowa did you" she chuckled. "Well, I didn't give you Iowa but I did give you a farm in Arcadia, Florida. Do you remember the time I asked you to...?
"Oh, Foster don't bring that up now!" She interrupted and laughed, knowing exactly what he was referring to.
"I always enjoyed you lying next to me.
Sometimes listening to jazz music and other times watching old movies together. You gave me a lot to think about during the day while I was working at Eastern Airlines for 25 years." he told her with a sheepish grin.
So darling, what made you want to marry me with four kids already after my first husband, Charles L. Dawson passed away?" she asked. "Well, you cooked for me on the first date." He smiled," and then I found out you can bake!" He said with a loud exclaim. "Charles is here too and we've become dear friends. He thanked me for loving you and I thanked him for the blessing of knowing your children."
"And then we had one child together and raised five precious children, Charles, Robert, Kathryn, Sandra and William didn't we?" she said with a beaming face. " I love my children and I love my grandchildren, she repeated from her last moments.
I know sweetheart. We've been watching over them and now you can join us too. I so enjoyed our 32 years together." Foster said with a joyful tear in his eye.
Phyllis grasped his two hands and held the same pose and the same look as on their wedding day. She was as overwhelmed now as then. "Foster, we are together forever." And with another loving embrace they continued into the next chapter of their time together with words, actions, and loving moments yet to be written.
"Time, Distance, nothing could separate them. Because they knew. It was right. It was real."
