Evelyn was a graduate of Fair Grove High School and Ashmore Business College. She married Smith Craven on February 2, 1951 and they had three children. She was a member of Bethany United Church of Christ where she sang in the choir, was a valued member of Women's Fellowship and the Adult Sunday School Class. For many years, Evelyn prepared the bulletin for the church. After her health no longer allowed her to prepare the bulletin, she mailed bulletins to all of Bethany's shut-ins who were unable to attend services. She always had a smiling face and a greeting for every member and for visitors to Bethany. Her smile and presence will be greatly missed, but she has been reunited with her beloved Smith and she will enjoy singing in the Heavenly choir.
