Thelma Luckey Hager STANLEY - Thelma Luckey Hager, 93, passed away on Tuesday, February 26, 2013, surrounded by her family. Thelma was born on July 3, 1919 in Lincoln County to the late Hattie Duckworth Luckey and Lloyd Luckey. Thelma retired from Union Carbide after 30 plus years of service. She was a longtime devoted member of Salem United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Norris Hager and her beloved daughter Dianne H. Alexander, four brothers Bennie Luckey, John B. Luckey, Willie Luckey and Charles Lindberg Luckey, two sisters Janet Stewart and Pansy McCorkle. She is survived by her son in law Gary Alexander of Stanley. Sisters Vira Mae Abernathy of Mount Holly, Catherine Masters of Denver, and Shirley Murray and husband Gary of Shelby. Thelma also leaves to cherish her memory three grandchildren and five great grandchildren Mark Alexander and wife Mary of Oxford, NC, Trina Gantt and husband Jimmy of Stanley, and Timmy Alexander and wife Heather of Stanley, Dayton and Madison Alexander of Oxford, NC, Drew and Lauren Gantt of Stanley, and Gunner Alexander of Stanley. A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Hager will be held at 4:00 pm Friday, March 1, 2013 at Salem United Methodist Church with Reverend David Hobson officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:30pm Friday at the church prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Salem United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, 378 North Pilot Knob Rd., Denver, North Carolina 28037.
