CHAPMAN -- Frances Elizabeth Gorman, 100, Chapman, died Monday, April 12, 1999, at a local nursing home.
Mrs. Gorman and her husband, Frank, had a farming and dairy operation east of Chapman.
Mrs. Gorman was born April 1, 1899, in rural Ogden, the daughter of Jerome and Hannah Garland Oliver.
She attended Half Acre Grade School, north of Skiddy. She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church and the Altar Society at the church, and she had taught C.C.D. for many years.
She married Francis "Frank" Patrick Gorman on July 21, 1930, in St. Michael's Catholic Church in Chapman. He died on May 13, 1972.
She is survived by three daughters, Frances Long, Chapman, Virginia Ovenstone, Lawrence, and Katherine Zlogar, Arlington Heights, Ill.; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Gorman was preceded in death by one grandchild, Scott A. Shipley.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Chapman.
Burial will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery in Chapman.
A rosary and Scripture vigil, followed by visitation, will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Londeen Funeral Chapel in Chapman. The funeral chapel also will be open for visitation from Thursday morning to Friday morning. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Michael's Catholic Church or Chapman Valley Manor and sent in care of the funeral chapel.
