Fort Dodge Messenger, September, 1946
Funeral services for George Dillon of Sioux City, well known in Fort Dodge, were held Friday morning at 8:30 at Laufersweiler funeral home and 9 o'clock at Sacred Heart church. Mr. Dillon died Tuesday at his home in Sioux City after a short illness. The Rev. C.P. Sweeney, pastor of Sacred Heart church, officiated at the requiem high mass. Burial was in Corpus Christi cemetery. Relatives and friends attending the services from out of the city included Mr. and Mrs. Al Dillon of Owasa, Mrs. Blake King and Mrs. Fred Bock of Iowa Falls, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Lamarour, Dave Dillon and William Bowen of Cherokee, Clifford Bentsley of Sioux City, Mr. and Mrs. J.E. O'Keefe of Omaha, Nebraska and Fred Evers of Green Bay, Wisconsin.

Mr. Dillon had been ill only a short time. He was for many years a conductor on the Illinois Central railroad between Fort Dodge and Sioux City. He is survived by his wife, the former Jule O'Keefe of this city and a brother in Iowa Falls. A brother, Rozelle Dillon of Fort Dodge, preceded him in death.

His first wife was Ellen Agnes (Helen) Bowen, married 19 Aug 1903 at Fort Dodge. She died in December, 1932. His second wife was Jule Ann O'Keefe, married 31 Aug 1935 at Sioux City. His parents, Daniel Dillon and Lydia Ann (Townsend), lived in Hardin County, Iowa where George was raised.
