Robert "Bob" Lee Campbell, son of Everett and Vada Seaman Campbell, was born on April 20, 1927 in Harper, Kansas.
Robert served his country during World War II with the United States Army Air Force as an airplane and engine mechanic from September 13, 1945 until his honorable discharge November 22, 1946.
On August 21, 1948, Robert was united in marriage with Mabel Mortimer and to this union one daughter, Dana, was born.
Other than his time in the Air Force, Bob had lived in Harper all of his life. He was Harper Police Chief for many years and was well known by everyone during his time as a police officer. Bob also served on the Harper County Sheriff's Department. Bob retired from the Harper Police Department in 1985 after 18 years of Service.
Bob loved to fish, hunt, and trap with his wife by his side.
Bob passed away at his home on August 6, 2009 at the age of 82.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister Leona Harris.
Robert is survived by his wife Mabel, of the home in Harper; his daughter Dana Forred and her husband, Walt, of Phoenix, AZ, and one granddaughter, Lori Short of Chicago, Illinois; sister Betty Jean Olivier of Great Bend, KS; other relatives and many friends.
