U.S. Army Specialist Five Kenneth Lavern Brown, died in Vietnam on November 2, 1970 from the injuries he suffered when the Helicopter that he was flying in crashed after experiencing a catastrophic mechanical failure.

Prior to joining the U.S. Army, Kenneth grew up in Fort Scott Kansas, where he attended Fort Scott Senior High School, graduating with the Class of 1968.

The Awards and Decorations that Kenneth received for his Military service, include: U.S. Army Crew Member Wings, the Air Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, and the Vietnam Campaign Medal.

Kenneth was 20 years old at the time of his death, and he was survived by his parents Robert E. and Katherine Hazel Brown of Fort Scott Kansas.
