William Brune Dies At Grand Island

William E. Brune, 62, of Hastings, former Blue Hill resident, died Monday at the Veterans Hospital in Grand Island where he had been taken as a patient on Saturday last week. He was a veteran of World War I.

Mr. Brune was born here Sept. 26, 1892 and resided in Iowa before moving to Hastings 12 years ago. He was a member of the Lutheran church and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Surviving are his wife, Nellie; a daughter, Mrs. Robert F. Carter of Wichita, Kansas, two granddaughters and a grandson. He is also survived by three sisters, Mrs. John Wademan of Blue Hill, Mrs. Thomas Holmes and Miss Emma Brune of Newton, Iowa, and a brother, Charles Brune of Blue Hill.
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon in the Brand Memorial Chapel in Hastings with the Rev. Paul M. de Freeze, pastor of First St. Paul's church of that city officiating. Burial was in the Blue Hill cemetery.
