Robert Leon Allen, Jr., 76, of Brady, died Sunday, Feb. 10, 2008, in Brady. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, Feb. 13, at 10 a.m. at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Sheldon Johnson officiating. Services are under the direction of Heritage Funeral Home. He was born March 31, 1931, in McCamey, to Robert Leon, Sr. and Easter Naomi (Howard) Allen. He was married to Edith LeFurge, who preceded him in death in 1998. He then married Stephanie Williams Oct. 7, 2000, in Mercury. He was a commander in the U.S. Navy for 30 years. Survivors include his wife, a daughter, a brother, a sister, three grandchildren, and many friends. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Edith John Allen; two brothers, Lloyd and Ray Allen and his parents. Memorial contributions may be made to the donor's choice.

When Robbie passed away, he had designated his body be used for scientific research. When his remains were returned they were cremated and by his request Lt. Commander Robert L. Allen Jr. was given a burial at sea by the United States Navy. This took place in Hawaii where he and his first wife Edith lived for several years.
