Mrs. Oscar (Emma)Bartness, 72, who lived in Hartland the last five years died at 5:45p.m. Friday at her home. Death resulted from cancer following a 5 month illness.
She was born August 24,1884, in Waseca County, the daughter of Olaves and Laura Bakken.
She was married to Oscar Bartness June 25,1910, at the LeSeur River church.
She and her husband lived on a farm in the Hartland vicinity until five years ago when he retired and they built a new home in Hartland.
Mrs. Bartness is survived by her husband; a son, Lloyd; two grandchildren, Ronnie and Ricky.
She is also survived by three sisters; Mrs. Nettie Lund of New Richland, Mrs. Carl(Ida) Holerson of Geneva; Mrs. I.B.(Olga) Swenson of New Richland.
Two brothers-Anton and Lewis Bakken of New Richland also survive.
A sister, Mrs. C.A.(Minnie)Amley preceded her in death.
Mrs. Bartness was a member of the Hartland Lutheran church, Circles 1&3; and the Ladies Aid from which she had a life membership.
Services will be at the Hartland Lutheran church, Monday at 2 p.m..
Burial will be at the Hartland Lutheran cemetery.
