William R. Lehman's battle with lung cancer and heart disease ended on Saturday, June 28, 2008 in his Chino Valley residence. He was 82 years old.

William (a.k.a. Bill) was born in Omaha, Neb. On Oct 25, 1925 but spent most of his life in Southern California. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and worked for North American after leaving the Navy. William's future wife also worked at North American building B-25s and P-51s for World War II. This where they met and after a few months of dating, they were married in 1945 and enjoyed 63 years together before his death.

Bill also worked as a foreman for the Tool and Die Department at Reynolds Aluminum in Southern California. They retired to Chino Valley, Arizona in 1979 after leaving the rat-race.

Billy loved people and spending time with family and friends. His was always open to visitors and everybody was his friend. He enjoyed working with the Boy Scouts, camping, and exploring new things. He was also an avid fisherman and enjoyed teaching others to fish. William touched the hearts and minds of many people who likened him to a second dad or brother.

After losing his battle with lung cancer and heart disease, Bill died in his home at the age of 82. He is buried with wife at Roosevelt Memorial Park in Los Angeles, County in family plots.
