Hannah is believed to be the daughter of Caleb Dunham. In a letter dated Mar. 30, 1908 from Rodney C. Abell (son of Salmon P. Abell and Nancy Allen Abell, and nephew of Nehemiah Allen) to Mary Allen Carman (daughter of Alson and Catherine Allen, and granddaughter of Nehemiah and Hannah Allen), Mr. Abell writes that Nehemiah Allen married Hannah Dunham in West Haven, Vermont in about 1818, and that she (Hannah Dunham Allen) "was a daughter of Caleb Dunham of West Haven, Vermont."

The birthdate for Hannah Dunham Allen shown in this memorial (1-23-1800) was provided by another FindAGrave member. Unfortunately, I neglected to record the member's identification number and I have no support for that date (but, please see note below). Please contact me if you have additional information concerning the birthdate.

Nehemiah and Hannah had six children: Hezekiah Allen, Alson S. Allen, Lucinda Allen, James R. Allen, John M. Allen and Warren N. Allen.
