Neva Gilbert Baker

Death: Jul. 26, 2006

Born in Waltonville, IL, one of two daughters of Alva S. and Inez FAIRCHILD GILBERT, she died in San Antonio, TX. She married Julius Gee Baker on Dec. 5, 1930. He died Jan. 13, 1981. They had just celebrated 50 years of marriage. Her sister, Anita HOLLOWAY, died Oct. 28, 1998.

Surviving and are worldwide network of friends and a cousin, Lt. Col. (Ret.) Helen Wells of San Antonio, TX.

When her husband volunteered in the Army Air Corps in 1943 and became a career officer, she followed him around the world.

She taught school, from grades 1 to 10, for twenty years, did secretarial work at Elmendorf Air Force Base in Anchorage, AK and McGuire Air Force Base in New Jersey. She worked for the Civil Service and the Internal Revenue Service.

She studied piano and organ and attended Le Cordon Bleu Cooking school in Paris, France.
