Konie Deaoula Barnes Sr., 86, of Hackett passed away Friday, Feb. 1, 2013, in a Fort Smith hospital.

He was a retired heating-and-air service manager, a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, a 32nd degree Mason and an avid golfer.

Funeral service will be at noon Wednesday at McConnell Funeral Home Chapel in Greenwood and interment with military honors at the U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home.

Survivors include his wife, Pauline, and mother-in-law, Wonema Miller, both of the home; a son, Brian Clark of West Fork; a daughter, Kristy Spruell and husband Michael of Gravette; a sister, Montique Nixon and husband George of North Carolina; a grandson, William Spruell; three sisters-in-law, Caryol Hendricks and husband Butch of Fayetteville, Loretta Korth and husband Norman of Fort Smith and Valarie Moffett and husband Mike of Rudy; and a brother-in-law, Russell Miller of Hackett.

He was preceded in death by a son, Konie Deaoula Barnes Jr.
