Resident Of County For Past Forty-Two Years Passed Away At Home At Age Of 66
James William Dorsey, for forty-two years a resident of Leavenworth county, died late yesterday afternoon at his home on Rural Route 6. He was 66 years old. A general breakdown brought on by old age caused death.
The deceased was a native of Canada, where he was born October 20, 1854. He came to this city while still a young man. For more than twenty-six years Mr. Dorsey was employed at the Missouri Valley Bridge works here as a structural steel worker. About ten years ago he retired and moved to a small farm on Route 6, Leavenworth.
The survivors are the widow, Mrs. Theresa Dorsey; one son, George, of Kansas City; two brothers, Thomas of Vinita, Okla., and Peter of Guthrie, Okla. The body is being held at the Davis chapel until definite arrangements are announced. The funeral probably will be held at the Lansing Catholic church and burial will be made at Mount Calvary.
