69, Sheridan, IN, died October 13, 2011. He was born October 20, 1941 in Lebanon, IN, to Edward Lorenzo Ayers and Viola Lloyd Ayers Collins, both deceased. Jerry was a farmer in the Sheridan area for more than 45 years. He was awarded the Honorary State FFA Degree for Indiana. He was an employee of Reynolds Farm Equipment in Sheridan and also Jackson Lee Pearson in Frankfort. He was an avid fisherman and he loved the farm life. But, what he loved most was spending time with his family and his grandchildren. Words cannot express what a great father and grandfather he was and how much he loved his family. He was a member of Sheridan Fidelity Lodge 309 F. & A.M. He was a 1960 graduate of Lebanon High School and a 1962 graduate of Indiana Central Business College.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, October 17, 2011 in Kercheval Funeral Home , Sheridan, IN, with visitation there from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday, October 16, 2011. Interment will be in Crown View Cemetery, Sheridan.

He was preceded in death by parents and brother, Robert Jackson Ayers.

Survivors include wife, Betty Lynn Godby; sons, Jerry Curtis "Curt" Ayers (Jennifer), Atlanta, GA, Christopher Lloyd "Chris" (Melissa), Newtown, IN; six grandchildren, Jakob Curtis, Ellie Elizabeth and Joseph Matthew Ayers of Versailles, IN, Sophia Marie Ayers of Atlanta, GA, Wyatt Jerry and Chloe Elaine Ayers of Newtown, IN; brother, Tom Ayers of Lebanon, IN; several nieces and nephews.
