Emily Sue Bretz, 82, of 6107 Waterman Blvd., St. Louis, MO passed away Monday, April 28, 2003 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was born February 6, 1921 in Anniston, AL and was a graduate of Emory University where she received her Masters degree. She retired from Mallincrodt Chemicals where she worked as a chemist for 35 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Katye Bretz and a brother, Richard Harris Bretz, Sr. Survivors include brothers, John A. Bretz, Jr. of Carrollton and Henry N. Bretz of Springfield, LA; sister, Paula Bretz of Rome; 10 nieces and nephews and 9 great nieces and nephews. A graveside and interment service was conducted Friday, May 2 at 10 a.m. at Rosehill Cemetery in Rockmart. Rev. Hoyt Lewis officiated. Freeman Harris Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
